A New Deal!

Dear Silver Leo Members:

During my zealous efforts to improve the Silver Leo blog, I lost all of the past comments. While that is no biggie, it occurred to me that we/I did not choose the best approach to using this tool. Let's blow off the comment business and write posts to communicate. They are much easier to edit and delete. After a while, we can clean house of the old ones and keep the current ones. So bloggers, please send a message to the blog by posting rather than commenting.

Thanks and have a good harvest.

I do like this better. Much easier to follow and make comments. Good going!

Earl, I like this better as well. However, I think you are the only one who can 'blog' on it. The rest of us can only 'comment'.
At least I can't find a place to click that will let me post a blog here.
But this does seem to be easier to add comments to.

Oh, yeah. The new comments only show up on the new blog. So when you think we have too meny comments just add a blog for us to make comments on.
That's how it works on my blog.
Except no one leaves any comments.
sigh. Wonder why?

I keep telling you that this blog has only three readers.....or four.

Sigh. Lonely are those adicted to reading and to writing.

Well, then try this oddity on for size.

Enlightenment?

Seeking enlightenment,
I bow to the inevitable.
Washing dishes,
I see the world,
Reflected in a soap bubble.
I find enlightenment.

Hey, Earl! Have you checked out the tabs on the dashboard feature of these blogs?
There is one called 'blogger buzz'. I was curiouse and decided to click on it while on my blog. Seems there's this big tenth aniversery thing going on but the main item of interest, especially to those into memroirs is something I spotted called blog2print. Apparently you can get with this group and they will print your blogs into a hardcopy book! Either hard or soft cover. Probably costs but hey, what a great way to get some of your memroirs packaged for passing on to the great great grand kids!
Providing of course it doesn't cost tooooooo much.

Earl,
I scrolled down a bit further on that Blogger Buzz thing on the dash board. The blog2book thing costs $14. something...darn I knew I shoulda noted it down somewhere...for 20 pages with a soft cover. I'm guessing thats 10 actual pages front and back. You can add more pages for $0.35 each.
No clue how that compairs to any of the other online self publishing places but it's a place to start checking for those who's aim is to preserve faimily history.

Betty,

Your source for short books sounds intrigueing. It's too bad so few members use the blog.

Well, I think I did it. If all goes well, you can add me to the "blogger" list.

I will try to leave a post. I had forgotten my gmail address as I normally use verizon. By the way Lavonne seems to have my emails blocked. Not sure why. It is most likely my problem.

Well, it seems to have worked. I will put the list of potential Anthology topics on the "Blog."
Hope a few more will read it.

Historical Markers
Day Trips in NE Texas
Cotton Belt Railroad
Cafes
Restaurants
Hobbies
Coffee Shops

There are others, but this will give you an idea. Let me know if I missed yours

I am reminded how lucky I am, and we are as a group, to have Dr. Tarpley as such a knowledgeable and generous mentor.

Hey Earl! Have a story started on my blog just for you and Betty, and anyone else interested. LOL

Earl, the story is now complete! Enjoy. All are welcome to read it any time. Eventually I will take it down, but not until I get it saved in my folders on the hard drive.
